Changes & additions in version 2.5i
iView list
Support up/down arrow keys as well as left/right arrow keys in the slide show and all view panes.
Page up and page down keys now work for page scrolling.
Added "Forward delete" to remove image.
Cell drawing changed to a more modern look (all 3 views). Also resize/zoom commands, were updated to minimise screen flickering.
Double clicking the selected image in info and thumbnail view, takes you to the image mode.
Slide show
The slide show part of iView was re-written. It includes most suggestions, a new look and dynamic zooming. When you reach the end of the slide show, iView goes automatically into pause mode.
"Continuous" check box added in preferences dialog to allow for continuous slide show.
Double-click an item in image view goes to slide show with paused on (unless manual is on).
Slide show image zooms as CAPS LOCK is pressed.
Sorting
Info list header was completely re-designed to allow for total user control in terms of display and sorting. Suggestions on restoring dropped order, and adding categories such as creation/modification date were incorporated.
The fields shown can now be selected from the ListTags menu option or by clicking on the bar with the control key down.
The QuickSort algorithm was incorporated to improve list sorting.
Filter Box
Find file option was replaced by the filter box. This contains a comprehensive list of filtering options that can be applied when dropping items into iView. (In a future version iView will allow saving filter boxes).
Marks menu
Sub menu "Marked Files Toolbox" was added to include commands applied to marked files. This is a convenient way to add user requests on marked files without overloading the menu bar. When marked files exist, this menu can also be accessed by clicking on the list with the control key down.
New functions include:
Mark All Missing Files: searches the current list for missing files (not in any mounted volume) and marks them.
Mark Filtered Files: passes all catalog files through the filter box (if on) and marks files that pass the filtering.
Move To Folder/Save To Folder/Save in new catalog/Append in catalog: self-evident commands that apply to marked files only.
Image Dropping
Loading speed (for big files) dramatically improved.
iView watches the speed at which a file can be imported (and drawn in image view) and adjusts drawing accordingly.
If a file already has a thumbnail it is used. This is useful for images bigger that 500K and multi-layered Photoshop files.
Disk search was modified, to relieve folder recursion. Actually this (too deep recursion-corrupting stack) was a cause of freezes.
Added preferences option to lock the list as iView is searching for files.
Native GIF Importer
Importing of GIF's is now native. Couldn't rely on QuickTime and adopted new code.
Preferences dialog
The preferences dialog has changed a lot and contains many new options.
Error Logging
Much improved error log now gives a description of what went wrong.
File Info
Added File Info icon that brings up a dialog allowing the user to edit keywords, and a description (as well as build a new thumbnail). This information is currently saved locally in the catalog only.
Folder Watching
Folder watch was postponed. Instead iView now checks for duplicate files as they are dropped.
In this case the user can create a catalog out of a single volume and later on drop the same volume to find new files.
Misc.
Corrected several memory leak problems
Registration dialog comes up after 7 days of using the software.
Copy Image Path: to copy pathname to clipboard.
Renaming files.
Type the first letter of an image filename to select in list.
XTND power enabler must be located in Extensions folder or Applications folder- Corrected problem with 68ks
